Discover the beauty and strength of this high-twist, 6-ply Tussah silk yarn—perfect for embroidery, weaving, or mending with a touch of elegance. With a comfortable bounce and excellent grip, it offers ease of use without slipping through your fingers like traditional mulberry silk.
This yarn features a delicate, understated sheen that blends beautifully into your work rather than standing out too boldly. Its natural texture makes it ideal for both decorative and practical projects.
Originally part of my former yarn shop’s collection, these skeins hold a special place in my heart. While the silk isn’t of European origin and slightly outside my usual offerings, I’m delighted to share them here once more.
One of the characteristics of plant dyeing is that there will never be two completely identical skeins, and slight variations of colour can appear in the thread.
Although I do everything I can to ensure that the yarns do not lose their colour, I rinse them several times after dyeing, some bleeding can occur. To prevent this I advise you to wash them only in cold water with special detergent suitable for silk. (Shampoo and dishwasher can be also used)
You can treat silk mostly the same as wool, so you can find further information about taking care of your yarn HERE.
