Len is a rustic looking fingering weight merino yarn with 25% linen
75% merino
25% linen
100gr/430m
origin: Portugal, Roll up the sheep
Due to the different nature of fabrics the dye produces two different hues which gives the skeins a beautiful marled effect.
Merino gives it bounciness and softness while linen makes it strong and somewhat heavier, garments made from this yarn will have more drape than usual merinos. A good choice for light cardigans and sweaters as well as summer tops - for northern summers.
One of the characteristics of plant dyeing is that there will never be two completely identical skeins, so for larger pieces, it is recommended to alternate the skeins during knitting so that there is no noticeable contrast.
Although I do everything I can to ensure that the yarns do not lose their colour, I rinse them several times after dyeing, but I still advise that if you use several different colours in one knit, wash the skeins first to make sure that the different colours do not touch each other.
